Natural medicine is an effective way to help us heal and balance our
lives. This talk will focus on the underlining causes of depression,
anxiety, bipolar, and schizophrenia. Healing can be enhanced by using
orthomolecular and nutritional therapies.

Galia Atteslander graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic
Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto. She practices under the governing body of the
Board of Drugless Directors and Practitioners of Naturopathy. Some of
Galia's passions have been in the area of researching alternative ways of
treating mental/emotional health, and Nutritional Psychology. In her
private practice, Galia's focus is on treating individuals with symptoms
of depression, anxiety, bipolar, and schizophrenia. She develops an
individualized treatment plan using nutrition, botanicals (plants/herbs),
homeopathy, gentle body adjustments, and vitamin/nutrient therapy
(Orthomolecular therapy).

Galia's hopes for the future are to be able to integrate a Naturopathic
based approach alongside other health care providers, in the treatment of
mental/emotional health.

Composting, Why & How
with Sunday Harrison

WEDNESAY July 25, 7 pm
in the HOPE Community Garden
in Masaryk Park
220 Cowan Street (Queen and Lansdowne)

The workshop is FREE, but spots must be reserved in advance

Please email garden at greenestcity.net
or call 647-438-0038 to book a spot

Composting is an elegant way to reduce waste while building healthy living
soil, the basis of healthy, nutritious plants. Four factors will be
discussed, in relation to one another: greens (kitchen waste), browns (dead
plant matter), water, and air. Finally, a list of things that can go wrong,
and how to avoid them. If a group is sharing the work and the final product,
this workshop will bring everyone onto the same page. Save the green bin
for the kitty litter and baby diapers: kitchen scraps belong in the
garden.
Vermicomposting will be covered as well. Handouts and hands-on.

Sunday Harrison has been composting on school and park property for eight
years, building soil where before there was sand. She has a certificate in
landscape architecture, but they didn't teach composting in landscape
school. She runs Green Thumbs/Growing Kids, children's gardening and
nature programs in the east downtown.
