Join 100 million people in over 1500 cities around the globe in
celebration of WORLD CAR-FREE DAY!

Movie Screening
Contested Streets
A one hour documentary that looks at successful programs in Copenhagen to
reduce car use. This will be followed by a panel discussion with local
councilors and city planners.
Where: South Riverdale Community Health Centre, Toronto (on Queen St. east
in Leslieville)

On Thur. Sept. 20, the Sierra Club of Canada is hosting Toronto's 2007 Car
Free Day celebration on Yonge Street and Yonge-Dundas Square from 10 a.m.
to 2:00 p.m.

On Saturday Sept. 22nd come out and show how much fun car-freedom can be!
Host a PARKING METER PARTY along Queen Street West from 1 pm, then join
the CAR-FREE PARADE at 6:00 (5:00 assembly at Trinity Bellwoods, heading
east)
BRING YOUR: family, bike gang, best friend, band, costumes, banners,
instruments, human powered floats, badminton rackets, dance party, clown
troupe, cardboard, crayons, imagination, sense of humour, whatever you do
best!
DON'T BRING: a car!

parade from High Park to the ROM --- or join us along the route --- to
push for bike lanes on Bloor and elsewhere in the city.

Environmental Alliance Present:
The Toronto Smog Hike!
On Sunday, September 23, join us for a fun walk to raise awareness about
an important issue. Meet at Harbour Square Park* at 10 a.m., with the walk
starting at noon. Beginning at the harbourfront, we'll head North along
Yonge Street in a symbolic gesture to account for the 1,700 people who die
each year from smog related illness in Toronto. Join us at any point to
walk for a block, a kilometre, or the whole trip: from King Street, past
Bloor, all the way up to Finch.
