☢ Nuclear Liability Act - Comments on Bill C-22 by Gordon Edwards If passed in its present form, Bill C-22 would cancel the existing Nuclear Liability Act (limiting the offsite liability of nuclear facility operators to $75 million) and replace it with the current version of the Nuclear Liability and Compensation Act (limiting the offsite liability of nuclear facility operators to $1 billion). But why should all Canadian taxpayers underwrite the nuclear industry in the case of an accident which would surely cost tens or hundreds of billions of dollars?
