☢ Stop BWXT Uranium Plant downtown Toronto from getting from a 10-year license extension
There's a Uranium Plant at Dupont and Lansdowne that uses natural and depleted uranium to manufacturer fuel pellets for the Pickering and Darlington nuclear stations. The plant also hosts a 9000 kg hydrogen gas tank. The company, BWXT – an American nuclear weapons manufacturer – is applying for a 10-year license extension. Mon. Jan. 27, midnight is the deadline to submit a written intervention to the CNSC. Here are the facts.

Stop the giant Hamilton gas pipeline - petition
Enbridge Gas is proposing to build a giant pipeline through Hamilton, including through an ecologically important wetland, to increase imports of fracked gas from the United States into Ontario. This pipeline is designed to allow a huge increase in use of polluting gas-fired generating plants in Ontario with an increase in greenhouse gas emissions of 400% by 2025. This is above and beyond the major climate impact of producing fracked gas. Please sign our petition opposing Enbridge’s destructive pipeline plan.

Extinction Rebellion Protest Disrupts Brussels Motor Show
An Extinction Rebellion spokesman, who identified herself only as Sarah, told AFP: "We call it 'the Salon of Lies' because we absolutely don't believe the automobile industry can bring solutions to this ecological and climate crisis. "It has already lied in the past, is still lying and will continue to lie to us if we don't stop it," she added, calling for a new model of transport that respected the ecological and social good.

Email the Government of Ontario demanding for a forest strategy that supports sustainable logging and cares for nature
The Government of Ontario’s latest proposal is paving the way for sweeping changes to the laws and policies that protect our public forests and the plants and animals that live there. Among other lowlights, Ontario’s Forest Sector Strategy aspires to double the amount of logging in the province from 15 million to 30 million cubic metres of wood per year, with no commitments to set aside more forests to support wildlife conservation.

Online Reject Teck Strategy Session
Wed. Jan. 29, 8:30 p.m.
Online at https://www.crowdcast.io/e/reject-teck-webinar
Right now, Liberal ministers are facing a massive decision. Should they approve the Teck Frontier tar sands mega-mine, and kill Canada’s climate targets to appease pro-oil premiers like Jason Kenney? Or should they listen to climate science, put our future first and Reject Teck? We’ve got a plan to ramp up the pressure on ministers, convince them the mine is politically toxic, and show them it isn’t worth risking climate disaster over -- but we can't do it without you. Join our ONLINE webinar and hear how you can support the campaign to stop the toxic Teck tar sands mine. Hosted by Leadnow.ca.
