My apologies if this is a duplicate transmission!
Gloucester Non-Profit Housing Corporation has a two-bedroom modified suite
available for rent on August 22, 2007. We are only accepting applicants who
qualify for two-bedrooms! It comes equipped with a washer & dryer, range
top, and convection oven/microwave. There is linoleum floor throughout the
suite (no carpet) and a wheel-in shower.
This suite is new and built under the "Action Ottawa" Program, the City of
Ottawa's funding program for the development of new housing that is
affordable to low and moderate income households. Action Ottawa communities
have a mix of income levels by design, with approximately 40% of the suites
rented at an Average Market Rent (AMR) as determined by Canada Mortgage and
Housing. The remaining 60% are rented at Below Market Rent (BMR), and that
amount works out to about 70% of the AMR. These suites will have a fixed
rent and the rent will not be adjusted according to the household income
levels. It is NOT rent geared to income.
To qualify to live in this community, the applicant's income must fall
within a range with a lower and upper limit (see below). The definition of
income does not include GST rebates, child tax credits, etc. Heat (gas),
Hydro and Hot Water (electric) will be the resident's responsibility.

All applications for Below Market Rent (BMR) must be made through the Social
Housing Registry, 2197 Riverside Drive. To apply, the household must have
an income within the range noted. When applying, the applicant must advise
the staff that they are interested in the "BMR Development" with Gloucester
Housing for the two-bedroom modified suite.
All applications for Average Market Rent (AMR) must be made directly at our
office at 1087 Cummings Avenue. To apply, the household must have an income
within the range noted.
