Hi folks,

 

Attached are the priorities and objectives developed by councillors and the
mayor at their strategic planning sessions on May 29th and June 5th. The
last two were added when they revisited the first five they had created.

 

The session that was scheduled for June 11th has been cancelled so the next
time they get together in public will be June 14th at the Assembly Hall at
Lansdowne Park. At that time they will get a rough draft of the document
that is to be released on June 22nd. They may also get some details on the
costing of the last two objectives. 

 

They also discussed the possibility of moving the committee of the whole
meeting which will hear public delegations away from July 9th so it isn't in
the middle of the summer. Both June and September were suggested and they
will make a final decision on the 14th. The concerns were 1) that people
will be away or otherwise occupied in July and 2) that they want to hear
from a broader cross-section of the public instead of the same-old, same-old
that they usually get in front of them.

 

I am working on a summary of the sessions as a whole and hope to get it out
'soon' - not promising any date. Some of the objectives are a bit cryptic or
written in "council-speak" so if you need more info or a translation, feel
free to contact me.
