> The Community Capacity Building (CCB) Steering Committee for Issues of Homelessness has just sent out invitations for a community consultation. The consultation's purpose is to clarify our community's current priorities, to include in our application for the new federal Homelessness Partnership Initiative (HPI) funding.

> All agencies in the homelessness service system have been invited to send up to three representatives (two from the staff or board, and one client or former client).  The invitation was also sent to representatives of some related funding bodies, as well as some planners, researchers, politicians, and business people.  A fax-in RSVP form was attached to the email invitations.

> Please understand that it is not possible to accommodate everyone who cares about homelessness at the upcoming consultation meeting.  If you wish to attend and you are affiliated with an agency, you may wish to ask the Executive Director or Chair if you could be named in the fax-in RSVP.  If your agency should be represented but has not received an invitation, or if you feel it is very important that you attend because you represent a unique point of view that will not otherwise be represented, you are welcome to contact Catherine Latham at the Housing Branch.  She is helping to coordinate this event and can be reached at Catherine.Latham at ottawa.ca  or by phone at 580-2424 Ext. 44110.

L'Équipe du renforcement de la capacité communautaire pour venir en aide aux sans-abri vient de lancer une invitation à une consultation communautaire.  Le but de la consultation est de clarifier les priorités courantes de notre communauté, pour inclure dans notre demande pour le reste de la subvention de l'Initiative des partenariats de lutte contre l'itinérance (IPLI) du gouvernement fédéral.
