Be it Resolved that  "The importance of public Closed Circuit TV cameras in preventing crime and increasing community safety outweighs the cost to privacy and civil liberty"
 
Vern White  Chief of Police of the Ottawa Police Service. Before joining the Ottawa Police Service, Chief White led the Regional Police Service in Durham, and before that he spent over 20 years with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. 
 
 
Mark Ertel is a criminal defence lawyer and partner in the Ottawa firm of Bayne, Sellar, Boxall.  He is the president of the Defence Counsel Association of Ottawa.

Il est résolu que  « l'importance d'installer dans les espaces publics des caméras de télévision en circuit fermé servant à prévenir les crimes et à augmenter la sécurité dans les collectivités l'emporte sur le prix du respect de la vie privée et des libertés civiles ».
 
Chef Vern White chef de police du Service de police d'Ottawa. Avant de déménager à Ottawa, le chef White dirigea le Service de police régional de Durham,et avant cela, il a passé plus de 20 ans à la Gendarmerie royale du Canada.  
  
Mark Ertel est un criminaliste, partenaire du cabinat d'avocats Bayne, Sellar, Boxall.  
Il est le president de la Defence Counsel Association of Ottawa.
