[homeles_ot-l] More on joining in FW: CMHC Housing First Teleforum

Hello all,

 

Dwane UnRuh, Senior Manager, Housing, CMHA - Ottawa Branch has advised us
that CMHA will have a modest space set up for a group session to participate
in the CMHC Teleforum: on Housing First Strategies: Challenges and Solutions
for Implementing, December 12, 2007 at 2pm - say, enough room for a dozen
people from outside to join them.

 

Dwane asked that people email their RSVP to him at dunruh at cmhaottawa.ca  to
make sure the CMHA room isn't overbooked. 

 

However, people are also able to set up their own viewing of this with just
a telephone and computer with internet. So some other agencies might be
interested in setting something up...

Housing First has received a great deal of recent attention.  

 

Attached is information (and registration details) about a CMHC teleforum on
Housing First Strategies: Challenges and Solutions for Implementation.  

                        

This teleforum will focus on strategies for implementing Housing First using
scattered sites.  Participants will hear from experts who have used this
housing first approach for several years.  These experts work with homeless
people living with significant challenges - including substance use and/or
mental health issues. The session is designed to promote dialogue and answer
questions. 

 

This teleforum will be held Wednesday, December 12th at 2 pm EST.  It is
designed to appeal to policy makers at all levels of government, agencies
that work with homeless people, health care professionals, and housing
providers considering dedicating a portion of units to homeless people.

 

All costs are covered by CMHC. 

 

Capacity is limited, so please register ASAP.
