[homeles_ot-l] Your help needed ASAP - Interim Control Bylaw

Hello everyone,

 

Perry Rowe, Vice-Chair of the Alliance to End Homelessness is sending you an
important letter drafted by the Emergency Shelter E-D's in response to the
notice from the Planning and Environment Committee regarding the Interim
Control Bylaw and the potential findings of the study (letter attached). 

 

We encourage you to use the attached letter to send one by Monday at 4 pm.

 

In this letter, the committee is put on notice of opposition to the proposed
changes to the By-Law. It also indicates support for the motion for
extension of the Interim By-law, to be put forward on October 23rd, so that
adequate consultation of all stakeholders can take place.

 

Forwarding this letter as individual agencies as well as from coalitions
such as the Alliance will be important in order to retain individual
organizations rights of appeal under the Municipal Board process should this
ever be needed down the road. The notification letter states that the OMB
has the right to dismiss such appeals by persons or public bodies if they
have not submitted oral or written presentations to the committee prior to
any amendments.

 

Letters in this or a similar format should be forwarded by email or fax no
later then 4:00 pm October 22nd to:
