“Re: ROOF program – A second chance to apply!

In order to assist a greater number of Ontario households, the Rental
Opportunity for Ontario Families (ROOF) program is opening a second
application window (22,500 for the second window). Eligible families have a
second chance to apply!

As you may be aware, ROOF is a financial supplement that will be given
directly to eligible low-income working families to help pay their rent.
They will receive up to $100 a month from January 2008 for up to five years,
provided that they remain eligible for the program.”

I'm sending attached the letters we sent out together with posters/brochures
to Service Managers and community organizations. 

 

As per the CRA numbers, Canada Revenue Agency has mailed-out approximately
35,000 ROOF applications for the first window and 22,500 for the second
window to individuals whose 2006 income tax return indicate they may be
eligible for the program.
