Growing Home: Housing and Homelessness in Canada invites submission of
proposals in any one of a number of key HYPERLINK
"http://www.nhc2009.ca/en/abstracts/themes.html"themes. The submission
deadline is September 30, 2008.
The overall theme of the conference is to encourage a national dialogue on
the various issues and potential solutions to housing and homelessness in
the diverse communities across the country. A key goal is to establish
alliances that will build a national coalition of key stakeholders in
providing services and finding solutions.
The main conference themes encompass particular constituents, particular
homeless sub-populations, responses to the issues and particular themes or
sub-themes. We also encourage submissions that will highlight conference
themes from new and emerging technologies such as video documentaries and
photo-voice. You are also invited to submit an abstract from any additional
presentations relevant to the conference theme.
As a means of encouraging promising practices, innovative solutions,
dissemination of research findings and articulation of organizational policy
implications, we invite your submission to three formats for abstracts:
* HYPERLINK
"http://www.nhc2009.ca/en/abstracts/focus-options.html"Innovations in
service;
* HYPERLINK
"http://www.nhc2009.ca/en/abstracts/focus-options.html"Research on
homelessness; and
* HYPERLINK
"http://www.nhc2009.ca/en/abstracts/focus-options.html"Organizational and
policy issues.
Our aim is to provide a broad stage for presentation of all programs,
practices and policies relevant to homelessness in Canada. This conference
is a rare opportunity for practitioners, administrators, researchers and
policy makers to meet collectively, exchange learned wisdom and promising
practices and identify future directions for dealing with the multiple
aspects of homelessness and housing in the diverse regions of Canada. We
encourage all stakeholders to contribute to this national effort.
