 Dear City Council Members, Mr Mercier and John Baird MP,



Please I am urging you to consider another fear / reality for persons with
disabilities who must rely on Attendant Care for washing, dressing,
assisting with them toileting and for transferring them to and from their
bed / chair.  Many of these same people who rely on Attendants also rely on
their Attendant for preparing their food and in many cases for feeding.



I am already starting to get concerns coming my way from those who rely on
Attendants saying that many attendants take the bus and may not be able to
get to their clients.



Will we start to hear about clients who could not be reached, who have been
left without food because they did not have an Attendant to feed them, who
have not been able to go to the bathroom and or who have been either left in
their beds or in their chairs for extended times leading to pressure sores?
Many of these clients may not have access to their phone unless they are out
of bed and may not be able to alert others that they are stranded.



Please once again I urge you to advocate on behalf of all residents to make
OC Transpo an Essential Service.
