FYI… Please note the Department provides funding in support of the
Resettlement Assistance Program (RAP) which is mainly funded by local or
regional offices to offer financial support and immediate essential services
to help refugees resettle in Canada. Through RAP, funds are provided to
community organizations to provide resettled refugees such services as
airport reception, temporary accommodation, help in finding permanent
housing and orientation to life in Canada.

For initiatives that support the settlement of newcomers to Canada

As part of its commitment towards a modernized approach to settlement
programming, Citizenship and Immigration Canada is launching its second
National Call for Proposals to invite new and current partners to submit
proposals for funding. Proposals must be national or international in scope
(as opposed to regional or local) and are designed to improve services to
newcomers or strengthen the settlement sector.  Please refer to the Guide
for Applicants for further information on the modernized Settlement Program
and the steps to follow to prepare and submit a proposal for funding.

Submission requirements: Complete proposals for funding (2 written and 1
electronic) must be submitted either: by mail postmarked on or before
January 26, 2009 or by hand  by 4 p.m. on January 26, 2009 to:
