*Fight for lower energy bills for poor goes to Divisional Court*

(Toronto) – The Low-Income Energy Network (LIEN) will appear before a
Divisional Court panel to argue that the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) does
have the authority to set affordable gas rates for low-income energy
consumers. There are about 759,000 low-income households in Ontario.

*WHEN:*   Monday, February 25 at 10:00 a.m.

*WHERE:      * Osgoode Hall, 130 Queen Street West, Courtroom #3

*WHAT:*   LIEN is appealing the OEB's April 26, 2007 decision that it has no
jurisdiction to implement rate affordability programs for low-income
residential consumers

*WHO:   * Paul Manning, Willms & Shier Environmental Lawyers LLP**** and
Mary Truemner, Advocacy Centre for Tenants Ontario (ACTO) are representing
LIEN in the appeal**
