      Very Needed: A bold plan to fight poverty in Ontario.

      Dear Make Poverty History supporter,

      Thanks to the action taken by many of you during the provincial election last fall, the Ontario government has promised to develop a plan to reduce poverty and make it public before the end of the year. They have launched a process of community consultations to get public input on the plan.

      We need your help now to encourage the government to set ambitious targets of reducing poverty by 25% in 5 years,  by 50% in 10 years and to ensure the consultations on a plan are as broad and inclusive as possible.

      THREE WAYS YOU CAN HELP:
      1. Send a message to the Ontario Government:

        1.. Sustaining employment with fair wages and good working conditions for all, 

        2.. Livable incomes for all including those unable to work, and 

        3.. Strong and supportive communities with affordable housing, child care, public education and community programs.
