Join us as we welcome Leader of the Federal NDP, Jack Layton on Thursday,
April 3 as he presents his thoughts on the affordable housing situation in
Canada. Sit down to dinner with housing expert, Alan Riddell on Thursday
evening and, Peter Robinson and Michael Goldberg are confirmed to wrap up
the congress at the closing plenary on Saturday morning. 

Leader of the Federal NDP, Jack Layton will attend the congress and present
his reflections on Thursday morning. He will also be signing his recent
book, Homelessness: The Making and Unmaking of a Crisis.

 

Peter Robinson, CEO, David Suzuki Foundation and former CEO of Mountain
Equipment Coop and Michael Goldberg, Chair, First Call BC and Member of the
National Steering Committee, Campaign 2000, will present the final plenary,
Canadian Housing Outlook - Building the Foundation for Tomorrow. Peter will
speak about housing and the environment –what new approaches are required to
make housing environmentally sustainable for our future, while Michael will
discuss future housing challenges facing vulnerable populations in Canada,
including families, seniors, and the homeless.

Thursday evening with Alan Riddell, recently retired Director of the Local
Development and Renewal Unit in the United Kingdom’s Department of
