Hi Everyone,

 

The Dream Team just completed a research project on the social and economic
impact that supportive housing has on surrounding communities. We
interviewed staff, tenants and neighbours of 2 different supportive housing
in the same part of Toronto. This research is different than other research
on supportive housing because Dream Team members (consumers) were involved
in all aspects of the research. Also, the research looked at relationships
the tenants of supportive housing had developed with neighbours and
businesses in the area instead of just looking at the health impact on
tenants. 

 

We launched the research at City Hall today. About 25 people were present
including reporters from the Toronto Star, the Globe and Mail and the
Toronto Social Justice Magazine. The launch went very well. Here is a copy
of the final report.
