Hello all,

 

For those of you who may have missed it when it aired a few months ago, a
radio show on homelessness in Ottawa is scheduled to air on CHUO 89.1
tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 pm.

 

“In advance of National Housing Day, CHUO presents a documentary about
homelessness in Ottawa by Heather Gilberds, a graduate student in
Communication Studies at Carleton University. Heather's documentary was
prepared with the support of researchers from the University of Ottawa and
Carleton University who were involved in The Panel Study on Homelessness.
Funded by the Government of Canada, the Panel Study is considered to be
groundbreaking research because it shows not only how diverse the homeless
population in Ottawa is, but it also provides for the first time research
findings that explain the different factors which cause people to become
homeless, as well as the services, programs and other support networks that
enable them to find and keep stable housing. Heather's documentary brings
the findings of The Panel Study to life, featuring stories, insights, fears
and hopes of people who are homeless in Ottawa.”
