territorial housing ministers...

 

As you know, seven of Canada’s thirteen provincial and territorial housing
ministers are meeting on Wednesday in Ottawa with representatives from
selected national organizations (the Co-operative Housing Federation of
Canada, the Canadian Real Estate Association, the Canadian Housing and
Renewal Association, the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, and the
Canadian Federation of Apartment Associations – plus the National Aboriginal
Housing Association) in order to raise the political profile of housing and
homelessness issues and point to solutions.

 

I have submitted the attached report on behalf of the National Housing and
Homelessness Network and the Wellesley Institute. The meeting officials were
unwilling to reconsider their decision to exclude the NHHN from this
session.

 

I’ll keep you posted.

 

In the meantime, this might be a good opportunity for provincial and local
housing and homelessness groups to do some media work around their issues
and concerns.

local advocacy efforts.
