Below are the 2009 City Budget timelines and the dates for the Consultations
in the wards, sent to us by Shellie Bird and The Ottawa Budget Coalition
with a note that “We need to begin getting folks from our different sectors
lined up to take part in these consultations so that we know councilors are
hearing the need to protect City programs and services, community health and
social services and arts and culture from funding cuts. We need to deliver a
strong message that they need to find a better balance between hard services
and soft services and to always apply the TRIPLE BOTTOM LINE BUDGET
APPROACH!”

 

1.      Also, a reminder from the PEOPLE FOR A BETTER OTTAWA: 

Tonight is the COMMUNITY FORUM – Building A Budget for a Healthy City and ON
TRIPLE BOTTOM LINE BUDGETING 

Oct 28th,  7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at First United Church 347 Richmond Road (just
west of Churchill) 

2.      On December 1 and 2 (and if necessary, December 3), City Council
(sitting as Committee of the Whole) will listen to public delegations on the
draft budget. Residents and businesses can make a five-minute presentation
at this meeting. To register, contact the City of Ottawa at 613-580-2424,
ext.12487. For the session, please provide a copy of your presentation,
