Hi there,

Only four more sleeps until the World AIDS Day Bash! Today - World AIDS
Day itself -- Youth Services Bureau's HIV/AIDS Prevention Education
Program invites youth to join us in an event to observe this important
day.

The World AIDS Day Bash is an annual youth event that raises awareness
about HIV, celebrates Ottawa's activities in the past year in fighting
HIV, and re-energizes our community campaign for the upcoming year. It
will take place from 7pm to 11pm on Saturday December 5th at Club Saw
(corner of Nicholas and Daly).

The World AIDS Day Bash will feature:

*	Insight Theatre: fun youth-to-youth sexual health educational
skits from Planned Parenthood Ottawa
*	Wrap-it Rap-off (see below)
*	Open mic - contact Audrey at 241-7788 ext 411 so we can get a
sense of how many would like to perform
*	Fun activities promoting health

The Wrap-it Rap-off

Wrap-it Rap-off is a team rap competition. Each team will present one
rap on the topic of sexuality, sex, HIV/AIDS, or any other topic that
connects to the theme of World AIDS Day.

Once each team has presented, the audience will decide (by applause) who
continues into 'Round 2' of the Rap-off, and so on until a Champion of
the Wrap-it Rap-off is crowned! Prizes will be given! Honour will be
won!

Once each team has presented, the audience will decide (by applause) who
continues into 'Round 2' of the Rap-off, and so on until a Champion of
the Wrap-it Rap-off is crowned! Prizes will be given! Honour will be
won!

We are asking each team to prepare 3 raps in case they are to progress
to the championship round. We also encourage props and costumes -
anything to make the audience go wild!

The raps should reflect the following values...

*	Show openness to risk reduction techniques and attitudes
avoiding shaming messages about drug use, sex!
*	Show openness to the diverse and fun ways people experience and
express their sexuality
*	Diversity positive!

Here are some of the campaign slogans that are being used
internationally this year (maybe they'll be inspirational):

Stop AIDS: Keep the Promise

I am accepted
I am safe
I am getting treatment
I am well
I am living my rights
Everyone deserves to live their rights
Right to Live
Right to Health
Access for all to HIV prevention treatment care and support is a
critical part of human rights

Contact Audrey if you would like to submit a team! . . . or if you have
any other questions. Thanks for keeping the promise to fight HIV. A
poster for promotion is attached.

Cheers,
