On February 12th, 2009, the Ottawa Council on HIV/AIDS hosted a community
forum on An Integrated Approach to Ottawa’s Open Drug Use at the Crowne
Plaza Hotel in Ottawa. The goal of the forum was to create an opportunity
for those affected by open drug use to learn about different perspectives
and approaches to this problem and increase our collective ability to
respond effectively as a community.  At this forum, Dr. Lynne Leonard
presented the findings of a study conducted by the HIV Prevention Research
Team exploring the feasibility of a supervised injection facility in Ottawa.
