Yasir Naqvi's consultation on the Poverty Reduction Strategy will be at 1 pm on Feb 3rd at the McNabb Community Centre which is at Percy and Gladstone one block east of Bronson. Deb Matthews, the minister in charge of the Strategy, will be there. 
 
You need to RSVP to Yasir's office by January 30th. See his message below for details.
 
IMPORTANT: If you would be able to drive someone else who might not be able to get there because of the strike, please tell Yasir's staff - I'm sure they are going to get lots of people looking for a way to get there.

On December 4, 2008, Minister Deb Matthews introduced Breaking the Cycle: Ontario's Poverty Reduction Strategy. Our poverty reduction strategy will reduce the number of children living in poverty by 25 per cent over 5 years - lifting 90,000 kids out of poverty - by boosting benefits for low-income families and enhancing publicly-funded education. 

You played an important role in the development of this Strategy by participating in our Poverty Consultations last year, and by submitting your feedback to Minister Matthews directly. We need this role to continue! 

That is why I am excited to invite you to a Community Conversation with Minister Matthews so we can gather again to discuss the Poverty Reduction Strategy and how we move forward from here.

Time:   1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. 

Where: McNabb Community Centre, 180 Percy Street (Assembly Hall)
