Dear Make Poverty History supporter,

If you can make it to Prime Minister Harper's office *Monday July 6 at noon*,
we need your help! Please note that we`ve changed the date from June 29 to
July 6.

*On Monday, July 6, 2009, please help us deliver our G8 petition to Prime
Minister Stephen Harper* to ensure that he receives our messages and takes
them with him to the G8 in Italy from July 8 to 10.


We are less than two weeks away from a critical meeting of the G8 in Italy
and we need your help to ask Prime Minister Harper to press the G8 leaders
to live up to the commitments made in the Millennium Development Goals and
to take urgent steps now to deal with a crisis which is hurting so many so
quickly.


Since the G8 will be in Italy this year, we will present Prime Minister
Harper with a bomboniera, a traditional Italian favour given as a thank you
present at important celebrations.  The bomboniera will represent our wishes
for this year`s G8 and our hope that Prime Minister Harper supports these
wishes and truly acts as our representative at the G8.

We will meet at the corner of Elgin and Wellington in Ottawa, across from
the War Memorial, near Prime Minister Harper’s office.

Nous sommes moins que deux semaines de la très importante rencontre du G8 en
Italie et nous avons besoin de votre aide pour demander au Premier Ministre
Harper a faire pression sur les dirigeantes du G8.  Nous demandons qu’ils
respectent les engagements pris à l'endroit des plus pauvres de la terre
dans les Objectifs du Millénaire pour le développement et qu’ils prennent
des mesures urgentes dès maintenant pour les aider à faire face à la crise !
à laquelle tant de gens sont soudainement confrontés.

Puisque le G8 sera en Italie cette année, nous présenterions Premier
Ministre Harper avec un bomboniera, un cadeau traditionnel en Italie qui est
donné comme remercîment dans les célébrations importantes.  La bomboniera
représentera nos souhaits pour le G8 cette année et notre espoir que Premier
Ministre Harper soutien ces souhaits et agit vraiment comme notre
représentatif au G8.
