Subject: {ODSPAction} Complaints about the schedule of the OCB payments?
To: odspaction at googlegroups.com, odspaction-announce at googlegroups.com

  Hi all,

Have you heard any complaints about the schedule of the Ontari Child
Benefitpayments?

The National Council of Welfare has received complaints from families on
social assistance who have indicated that the fact that they receive a (now
reduced) social assistance cheque at the start of the month and their child
benefits around the 20th of the month leaves them with insufficient funds
for much of the month because the majority of their social assistance cheque
goes to rent.

The NCW is looking into this and are considering approaching the Canada Revenue
Association (which delivers the Ontario Child Benefit) to make some changes,
if they are deemed necessary. If you have heard similar complaints, please
contact Sarah Blackstock at the Income Security Advocacy Centre: 416-597-5820
ext 5150 or via email: blackstocks at lao.on.ca.

Please do not respond to the list.

Thank you.
