Premier encan silencieux dans le cadre du 

Cocktail bénéfice annuel d’Action-Logement / Action Housing

Ottawa, le 11 septembre 2009 : Afin de recueillir des fonds pour continuer à
mieux desservir la communauté, Action-Logement/Action Housing organise, le
mardi 29 septembre 2009, son 5e Cocktail bénéfice annuel. Les organisateurs
profiteront aussi de cette activité pour souligner le 20e anniversaire
d’Action-Logement / Action Housing. Madame Janet Yale, Vice-présidente à la
direction et Présidente nationale des Comités d’investissement communautaire
de TELUS, a gracieusement accepté la présidence d’honneur de cet événement.
De plus, des bénévoles s’affairent à organiser le tout premier encan
silencieux bénéfice dans le cadre de ce cocktail.

 

Cet encan est spécial de par ses artistes. En effet, suite à une recherche
intensive auprès des artistes de la rue ou ayant vécu des situations
précaires de logement, nous sommes fiers de pouvoir faire connaître les
talents artistiques de six  de ceux-ci. Nous sommes très reconnaissants
qu’ils aient bien voulu prêter mains fortes en offrant une variété de leurs
œuvres.  

 

En effet, l’encan silencieux regroupe treize tableaux, sculptures et bijoux,
pour lesquels une mise de départ est donnée; celle-ci peut varier de 

100 $ à 250 $. Tout le monde a le droit de miser et ce autant de fois qu’il
le désire, le montant de la mise demeurant toujours à la discrétion des
gens. De cette façon, lors du Cocktail et à compter de 18h30 h, la mise la
plus élevée se verra remporter l’oeuvre sur laquelle l’offre aura été faite.




Notons que tous les artistes ont gracieusement accepté de verser 50% du
montant des ventes de la soirée à Action-Logement. Cette soirée haute en
couleur offrira aux participants l’opportunité de faire l’acquisition
d’œuvres d’art tout à fait exceptionnelles tout en faisant la rencontre des
artistes, qui pour quelques-uns d’entre eux ont laissé leur signature
artistique à travers le Canada, les États-Unis, en Europe et en Asie. 

 

Présentez-vous donc au Cocktail (voir le site Internet

billets) pour tenter de jouer la meilleure mise et ainsi courir la chance de
repartir avec l’œuvre d’un artiste social de la région. Pour plus de

First Silent Auction organized during

 Action Housing’s Annual Benefit Cocktail!

 

Ottawa, September 11th, 2009: To collect funds to continue to better serve
the community, Action-Logement / Action Housing has organized, its 5th
Annual Benefit Cocktail. on Tuesday, September 29th, 2009. The organizers
will take this opportunity to celebrate the 20th anniversary of
Action-Logement / Action Housing. Madam Janet Yale, Executive Vice-President
and National Chair of TELUS’ Community Boards, gracefully accepted the
presidency of honor of this event. As a new and exciting aspect of the
Benefit Cocktail the very first Silent Auction which is now being organized
by our volunteers, will be held as part of the event.

 

The Silent Auction will showcase thirteen paintings, sculptures and jewels,
for which a reserved minimum bid will be given; this bid can vary from $100
to $250. Every participant can bid as often as he or she wishes, the amount
of the bid being always left to the discretion of the bidder. Bids will be
accepted during the Cocktail up to 6:30pm, when the highest bidders will
claim their works of art.

 

This auction is special due to the artists who have agreed to participate. .
Many of these artists have  been ”on the street” or have experienced
precarious situations in housing, We are proud to be able to showcase six of
these artists so they can be better known by the public. We are very
grateful that they were kind enough to lend a hand by offering a variety of
their works.  

 

It is noteworthy that all the artists have gracefully agreed to contribute
50 % of the amount of the sales of the evening to Action-Logement / Action
Housing. This colorful evening will offer the participants the opportunity
to purchase exceptional works of art while meeting artists, some of whom
have left their artistic signature throughout Canada, the United States, in
Europe and in Asia.  

 

Thus we invite you to attend our Cocktail (see the web site
www.action-logement.ca for the purchase of tickets) in order to place your
best bid and run the chance to leave with the art work of a “social artist”
of our region.
