**Join TV and film star Mary Walsh in a rally on Parliament Hill -- on
Saturday, January 16.

**Poor No More* is a feature documentary about Canada's working poor.

The film will wrap up with a rally in front of the House of Commons

-- bringing together our host Mary Walsh, the people that we've interviewed,
and many of our sponsors and supporters.

*Join us for lunch, then march to the Flame and the steps in front of the
House of Commons.

12 noon at St. Andrew's Church, 82 Kent
Street<http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=82+kent+street,+ottawa,+ontario&sll=45.420377,-75.703494&sspn=0.007305,0.01929&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=82+Kent+St,+Ottawa,+Ottawa+Division,+Ontario,+Canada&z=16>,
*Ottawa,* *on the corner of Wellington across from the Supreme Court.
*1:30 march to the Hill

*Ample parking is available along Wellington and behind and to the west of
the Supreme Court.

Thanks to the Canadian Union of the Public Employees, Professional Institute
of the Public Service of Canada, the Public Service Alliance of Canada for
co-hosting the lunch.

*Poor No More* shows the perils and prospects of the working poor.

Mary Walsh, our host, takes Canadians to see how poverty has been reduced in
Europe...and how it might be reduced in Canada.

Our characters discover that the countries with the least poverty have
strong unions, affordable housing, universal childcare and post secondary
education -- and enjoy successful economies.

This will be the first film to explain the roots of the current economic
crisis, its impact on Canadian working people, and what can be done about
it.

It has been produced by a small company of progressive film-makers, who have
done a lot of work with unions and with national and international
broadcasters including CBC, CTV and NBC among many others. --

*Sponsors and supporters* -- notably the *Ontario Public Service Employees
Union, Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada, Public
Service Alliance of Canada, and the Society of Energy Professionals *and the
* Alberta Teachers' Association,* *Anglican Church of Canada, Atkinson
Charitable Foundation, British Columbia Federation of Labour, British
Columbia Teachers Federation*, *Canada Without Poverty,* *Canadian Council
on Social Development, Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions, Canadian
Federation of Students, Canadian Federation of Teachers, Canadian Nurses
Association, Canadian Labour Congress, Canadian Union of Postal Workers,
Canadian Union of Public Employees, International Brotherhood of Electrical
Workers, Make Poverty History, Manitoba Teachers Society, National Union of
Public and General Employees, Newfoundland Federation of Labour, Nova Scotia
Government Employees Union, Ontario Coalition for Social Justice, Ontario
English Catholic Teachers Association, Ontario Federation of Labour,
Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario, Service Employees International
Union, The Co-operators, United Association Local 46 (of Plumbers and
Pipefitters), United Church of Canada, United Nurses of Alberta, United
Steelworkers, and the United Way of Calgary.

*As is evident, this film has been sponsored by Main Street, not by Bay
Street or government.

The film's message is of critical importance and the timing is perfect. As
the economic meltdown threatens, people are looking for solutions.

*Poor No More* will appeal to the millions of Canadians who are worrying
about how to make ends meet.

We want this film to reach as many people as possible so as to influence
public opinion and public policy --

-- to inspire Canadians with the vision of a more just and equitable
society.
