Here's what you need to know...

 

Dear colleagues,

As you know, the Downtown Services and Drop-In Centre will be going
through some much needed renovations in the next 15 weeks. The
renovations of the 60 year old building will improve services for our
clients such as: better shower and laundry facilities, room for a food
bank, better meeting and counseling spaces, a more cost-efficient and
environmentally friendly heating system, and much more. 

The federal and provincial governments have allocated $533.000 towards
the project while the remaining costs will be fundraised through the YSB
Charitable Foundation. 

During construction, services will still be delivered to our clients at
different locations throughout downtown. Here's what you and your
clients need to know:

o        Daily lunch and food bank

o        Emergency and crisis counselling

o        Individual goal planning, including housing support and

o        Access to computers and phones

o        Weekly visits from community outreach workers from other
agencies
