Please find attached a poster for the fifth annual Ottawa Tenants Conference which will be held this year at City Hall on Saturday, September 10th from 9am to 3pm.  The conference will have guest speakers,  workshops, music and skits, in addition to tenants offering their own personal testimonials.

This year's conference takes place less than a month before the provincial election and it is our hope to educate tenants about the role that these policy makers have in their lives.  For example, the provincial government has recently announced that  landlords will be able to raise rents by 3.1% in 2012 without any guarantees of adequate maintenance or services.  In spite of this landlords are saying that 3.1% is not enough and they want more.  It's time for tenants to speak up and have their voices heard.
