Topic:	Overview of the Pathways out of Homelessness study in Metro Vancouver.
 
Topic description:
 
The Pathways out of Homelessness research study considers the post-homelessness situation of individuals housed through one of British Columbia ' s (BC) homelessness services programs. Metro Vancouver commissioned the research, in partnership with BC Housing. The project received funding from the Homelessness Partnering Strategy.
 
The study highlights the success factors that enable homeless people to maintain their housing. It provides a foundation upon which future studies can build, thereby advancing our collective understanding of the solutions to homelessness. The presentation will provide an overview of the study ' s approach, key findings and recommendations. 
 
Who will be presenting? 
 
Noha Sedky, CitySpaces Consulting
Noha is a planning consultant with over ten years of experience working in housing and homelessness. She has led numerous housing studies and assessments and assisted local governments and agencies with policy reviews, affordable housing initiatives, land development feasibility and evaluations of homelessness projects. Noha is regularly called upon to speak about housing issues and she was the research lead on the Pathways Out of Homelessness study.
 
Brenda McBain, CitySpaces Consulting
Brenda is a social worker and public engagement specialist who joined CitySpaces Consulting as the firm's social planner in 1993. The core of Brenda's work involves ensuring that underrepresented groups including disadvantaged people are included in the processes and policies that affect their lives. She has worked with non-profit agencies, First Nations and local governments in the areas of social impact assessment, program evaluation and affordable housing initiatives. Brenda conducted much of the key informant research for the Pathways out of Homelessness study.

Description du sujet
Le projet de recherche Pathways out of Homelessness : Metro Vancouver Regional Study prend en considération la situation des individus sortie de l ' itinérance après avoir été placés en logement par l ' entremise d ' un des services pour les personnes sans abri de la Colombie-Britannique. La ville de Vancouver a commissionné la recherche, en partenariat avec BC Housing. Le projet a reçu des fonds de la Stratégie des partenariats de la lutte contre l ' itinérance.
 
L ' étude met en lumière des facteurs de succès qui permettent aux personnes itinérantes à maintenir leur logement. Ce projet fournit une fondation sur laquelle des études pourront se baser à l ' avenir, faisant ainsi progresser notre compréhension collective des solutions à l ' itinérance. Cette présentation vous fournira une vue d ' ensemble de l ' approche de cette étude, des résultats, et des recommandations.
