Kind of ironic considering some people are homeless because of high hydro bills which made them choose between heat and rent!!

Hydro Ottawa recently announced the launch of a new $100,000 funding initiative called the Brighter Tomorrows Fund. The fund, which will be administered in coordination with United Way Ottawa , will enable frontline agencies that serve people who are homeless or at risk of being homeless to invest in energy-efficient technologies or products. By supporting projects such as the replacement of old windows, the installation of high-efficiency heating and cooling systems or the procurement of new and more energy-efficient appliances, the fund will help agencies reduce energy costs, improve their facilities and provide more comfortable living spaces.

Please distribute this information to your network.  For more information about this fund and to submit a proposal, please visit the Agency Resources section of United Way Ottawa ’s website at http://www.unitedwayottawa.ca/English/Agency%20Resources/Brighter%20Tomorrows%20Fund/Brighter%20Tomorrows%20Fund.php
