Subject: Tonight TVO The Agenda to focus on affordable housing
Hi everyone,
I'm happy to let you know that we succeeded in getting The Agenda with Steve Paikin to do an episode focused on housing affordability. Tonight's show will start with an interview with David Hulchanski about his recent report and be followed by a panel discussion. Michael Shapcott and myself are on the panel, as well as Hulchanski, Ann Golden and Martin Blake (Daniels group and Habitat for Humanity). The show is broadcast at 8 and 11 pm. Here's a link to the TVO website.

Hello All,
Nicole, thanks very much for your excellent summary of and future estimates of Federal AHP funding overall and Ontario's expected portion of from 2011 to 2014. Estimates look very good to me.
Thanks,
Harvey

Subject: Question RE: next HNO meeting January 17, letter from Minister Bartolucci
Hi Everyone,
Here are my estimates on AHP funding for the next three years.
Projected Funding Allocation for 2011 to 2014 for Affordable Housing Initiative
Federal Commitment for 5 years: $1.9 billion (2009 to 2014)
Annual federal funding for Canada: $387 million/year
AHP Funding for 2011 to 2014
Estimated Annual federal/provincial funding for Ontario: $87.5 million/year
(Based on previous Canada-Ontario Affordable Housing Program Extension of $175 million from federal and provincial governments for 2009 to 2011)
Estimated 3 Year federal/provincial funding for Ontario: $262.5 million
Keep in mind that there are four components to the Affordable Housing Program: Homeownership, New Rental Housing, Housing Allowances/Rent Supplement and Northern.
In your meeting with the Minister, you may want to specify that you are looking for specific outcomes within each component.
Harvey and Michael, please feel free to 'weigh in' on this estimate. Also, please do not circulate this email beyond the Steering Committee.
Thanks,
Nicole
