SAVE THE DATE: JULY 27th – OTTAWA CONSULTATION ON SOCIAL ASSISTANCE PLEASE DISTRIBUTE TO YOUR NETWORKS

 

The Province of Ontario is doing a review of Social Assistance (OW and ODSP) and the two Commissioners are coming to Ottawa. They want to hear from people on assistance, service providers, employers and the general public about how Social Assistance can be improved. 

 

There will be two opportunities for the community to have their voices heard on July 27 at St. Joe’s Church (Cumberland & Wilbrod). 

 

·         1-4pm – this session will be reserved for people affected by social assistance, service providers and community organizations. To protect people’s privacy, the media will not be present.

·         6:30-9pm - open to everyone including the media

 

Bus tickets and childcare costs will be provided for low-income participants who register.

DATE À RETENIR : 27 JUILLET – CONSULTATION SUR L’AIDE SOCIALE À OTTAWA À DIFFUSER DANS VOS RÉSEAUX

 

Dans le cadre de leur examen du système d’aide sociale de l’Ontario (programme Ontario au travail et Programme ontarien de soutien aux personnes handicapées), les deux commissaires se rendront à Ottawa. Ils souhaitent entendre les prestataires de l’aide sociale, les fournisseurs de services, les employeurs et le grand public sur la façon dont le système d’aide sociale pourrait être amélioré. 

 

La collectivité aura deux occasions de prendre la parole, le 27 juillet, à l’église Saint‑Joe’s (Cumberland et Wilbrod).

 

·         De 13 h à 16 h – Cette séance est réservée aux prestataires de l’aide sociale, aux fournisseurs de services et aux organismes communautaires. Afin d’assurer la confidentialité des personnes présentes, les médias ne sont pas invités. 

·         De 18 h 30 à 21 h – Séance ouverte à tous, y compris les médias.

 

Les participants à faible revenu auront droit à des billets d’autobus et se verront rembourser leurs fais de garde d’enfants.
