[homeles_ot-l] Reminder: Deadline for Energy Efficient, Small Capital Projects is March 31, 2011

Please note that the deadline for the Brighter Tomorrows Fund is quickly approaching.  All applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. on  March 31, 2011.



The Brighter Tomorrows Fund is designed to help local not-for-profit organizations that serve people who are homeless or at risk of being homeless invest in energy-efficient technologies or products.  Capital projects with the greatest potential for making housing, shelter facilities and service delivery agencies energy-efficient will be considered. Local organizations that help Ottawa residents who are homeless and those at risk of homelessness are eligible to apply for this funding.



Examples of possible projects include:

*         energy audits to ensure that capital projects are energy-efficient, which will help to reduce costs over the long term and allow more resources to be invested in the community

*         the purchase and installation of new windows, doors, furnaces or energy-efficient appliances.
