Street-involved and homeless youth want us to know what it's really like to be on the streets from their perspective. On Sunday, April 10, you will have a chance to hear it straight from them. For one day only, a fundraiser initiated by the Great Canadian Theatre Company (GCTC) to benefit street-involved youth at YSB will showcase The Middle Place, a play based the lived experiences of homeless youth. The day will include a Youth Art Showcase and will finish up with an Acoustic Waves/Ottawa Folk Festival concert featuring Tara Holloway and her band.

Buy your tickets here. <http://guestlistapp.com/events/48459>

The day starts off with the Youth Art Showcase at 11:30AM. Busking, art displays and performances are on the menu as street-involved young artists showcase and sell their art in the GCTC lobby at 1233 Wellingston St. Come support their creativity! (Entrance is free of charge, but you're encouraged to buy youth art)

At 2 p.m., we invite you to watch The Middle Place, a play by Andrew Kushnir. The Middle Place brings to the stage the extraordinary voices of 16 homeless teens, 3 tireless caseworkers and 1 well-intentioned outsider. Lauded by critics, this piece of documentary theatre explores the lives of society's forgotten youth. After the show, street-involved youth will participate in a "talk-back" session with the audience. You won't want to miss it. ($60.00)

This powerful day will end with an uplifting concert brought to you by the Ottawa Folk Festival, Acoustic Waves by Tara Halloway and her band. ($25.00)

Proceeds will support youth homelessness programs through the YSB Charitable Foundation.
