Dear Community Partners in Mental Health,

 

Artswell and Ottawa Salus are thrilled to invite community partners to participate in a unique community based arts and health project called "Footprints: Creativity, Recovery and Mental Health. The goal of the project is to engage mental health service users in the transformative powers of art. Creative expression whether it is through music, dance, drama or the visual arts can positively impact self esteem, connection to self and others, as well community engagement. 

Your organization can get involved in one or more ways:

1)    Host a Create-a-Space Session: a two hour drop-in expressive arts experience geared to awaken the creative spirit through the use of simple and accessible art supplies. No previous art experience is required (but a willingness to have fun is a must!) Create-a-Space sessions can be designed for up to 25 participants. 

2)    Host an Expressive Arts Series: A series of workshops designed around one or more modalities such as: dance; music; drama; storytelling and painting. Each workshop series (modality and theme) is designed in partnership with the host organization and clients. Workshops can be either process or project oriented. Similar to the Create-a-Space sessions - no art experience is required!
