Youth Homelessness
Awareness Day - Ottawa Leads The Way
Action through collaboration!
Thursday March 22, 2012 1:00 - 2:30 PM Eastern Time
One third of Canada's homeless population is between the ages of 16-24 and Youth homelessness is on the rise. Youth become homeless because of poverty, family breakdown, mental illness, sexual orientation and many other reasons beyond their control.

Join in this Fireside Chat to hear about the violence and discrimination youth face every day and how frontline agencies work together, in conjunction with local government, to provide supports, resources, and advocacy so that youth have a fighting chance at realizing their life's potential.

*	November 17th, 2011 was declared Youth Homelessness Awareness Day in Ottawa by Mayor Jim Watson - Frontline agencies and local government work together to provide coordinated supports to youth at risk on the streets of Ottawa
