Subject: [homeles_ot-l] Homelessness & social justice in Ottawa's Peace & Environment paper

"Hot off the presses"

Hello listserv members:

Please watch for the winter edition of the Peace and Environment newspaper. It focuses on homelessness and social justice and ATEH and its members are featured in several stories. One spot to try get a copy is the Arbour Environmental Shoppe at 800 Bank St.

We don't have a copy yet but we understand that: one story looks at the cycle of mental health, homelessness, and corrections; another focuses on the Alliance's Ask Me Ottawa campaign and one features Cornerstone Housing for Women.

We helped with these 3 stories too:

* Many ways to help leads readers over the holiday season to links on the member page on the website<http://www.endhomelessnessottawa.ca/alliance/membership.cfm> of Alliance to End Homelessness to help community members learn about the organizations listed there when they are interested in volunteering or donating.

* Determined to end homelessness is about The Alliance to End Homelessness Ottawa and its commitment to change, its determination to see our community end the crisis of homelessness and on the importance of advocacy.

* A new threat to people facing homelessness is about the cuts to funds that help people on low incomes maintain or set up housing when they run into unexpected expenses. It offers readers ideas about contacting MPPs and Councillors to protect this assistance for those with the lowest incomes.
