McMeeklin is a potentially great choice. He is a social worker with experience in social planning and has introduced a private members bill in the past which aimed at establishing a committee of experts and recipients to set rates on the basis oif need. Will the Liberals let him get a head of steam and maintain his principles?

        Hi folks,

Here's the list of Kathleen Wynne's new Cabinet. The Ottawa contingent is still the same size with Mademeine and Bob still there, Dalton gone and Yasir elevated to cabinet. That was a surprise to me since he's also the Ontario Liberal Party President, a big job in itself, although he does need cabinet experience to become the next Liberal leader.

Ted McMeekin, the new Community & Social Services Minister, is from a riding just west of Hamilton that appears to be a mix of urban/rural as is Ottawa. I don't know anything else about him - yet!

Linda Jeffrey, Minister of Municipal Affairs & Housing, is from Brampton and was previously the Minister of Labour and Seniors. She's from Ireland so she must be okay.

For those of you following the Social Assistance Review process with it's emphasis on employment, Yasir is the new Minister of Labour and Eric Hoskins is the Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Employment, a new ministry. Hoskins was a leadershipcandidate and the first to go over to Wynne at the convention.

Charles Sousa, as expected, is the new Minister of Finance. He brings a lot of experience to that portfolio from his private sector work and, from what I know of him, is a heavy hitter.

We'll have to see how they all work out, of course, and how she does in her role as cat-herder.

        Linda.
