TRAINING:  FRONTLINE WORKER TRAINING SESSION ON HUMAN TRAFFICKING 

The Ottawa Coalition to End Human Trafficking, PACT-Ottawa and St. Joe’s Women’s Centre are pleased to deliver one-day sessions for local Ottawa and Region frontline community workers, first responders and community stakeholders on Human Trafficking and best practices in victim services.  

This one-day session was designed by subject-matter experts, law enforcement and support workers and is applicable to Executive Directors, Social Workers, Training Officers / Coordinators, Frontline support workers, First responders, and Post-secondary students in social work, health, victimology and justice programs. 

This training is unique to Ottawa and the National Capital Region is designed to reflect national, domestic and local trends, cases and best practices in identifying and supporting local victims of human trafficking.  Through a victim-centered approach, learn about Human Trafficking including: 

·         Definitions 

·         Indicators and vulnerabilities 

·         Grooming models 

·         Impact on victims and specialized support requirements, and 

·         Best practices from police and local social service organizations 

COST:  $50 professionals / $25 students and volunteers SESSIONS:  February 25th, February 27th, March 1st, March 20th or March 23rd. LOCATION:  St. Joe's Parish Hall, 174 Wilbrod Avenue, Ottawa, ON 

Registration opens at 8:00 a.m.  A light lunch and refreshments will be provided.  Please advise us of any special dietary needs or accommodation requirements.   

Deadline to register for the last session is March 20, 2013.
