[homeles_ot-l] Invitation: Volunteer with the Alliance to End Homelessness (ATEH)

Greetings,

 

Are you looking to become more familiar, or more involved, with the work of
the Alliance to End Homelessness Ottawa? 

Volunteers are currently being sought to serve on various Alliance to End
Homelessness (ATEH) working groups / committees.  Your involvement enables
you to use your expertise and experience to help guide ATEH activities,
while also offering the opportunity to network with other ATEH members and
supporters. Many of you are already working in countless ways to support
persons who are homeless or who are at-risk of homelessness. Others may be
working in other areas, but with a keen interest being to engage on issues
of homelessness. 

 

For everyone, the Alliance creates a space to collaborate, working in ways
that become possible when we come together. 

 

We are looking for those who have an interest and experience in areas
related to the mandates of four committees, as follows:

 

.         Public Affairs Working Group: The focus of this group is to
develop and facilitate the implementation of advocacy and communications
strategies and activities. Effective media relations, journalism, social
media and design skills are of significant interest.

.         Research and Evaluation Working Group: The focus of this group is
to transfer knowledge - on the causes of homelessness and on effective
interventions - to the community at large; to monitor local research
priorities; and to facilitate, monitor, and support high impact research.

.         Fund Development Committee: The focus of this group is to assist
in developing and executing strategies oriented to growing a sustainable
revenue for the organization.

.         Policy Committee: The focus of this group is to serve as an
advisory to the Board in fulfilling its responsibilities relating to
governance, governance structure, governing documents and framework
policies.
