Arstwell Comes to Options Bytown
[artswell1-thumb]Artswell is a local arts organization dedicated to improving the quality of life and well being of individuals living with the effects of age, illness, or injury. The tenants of Options Bytown were fortunate to benefit from the Artswell experience when artist Tim Yearington brought his workshop, entitled FOOTPRINTS, Creativity, Recovery and Mental Health<http://www.artswell.ca/> to our building at 380 Cumberland on March 10, 2014.

Carleton Students Choose to Help Options Bytown during Spring Break

[carleton2-thumb]While many of their classmates were on the slopes or on the beach, a group of Carleton University students were volunteering at Options Bytown. The group joined the “Alternate Spring Break” program that matches students with charitable organizations. Everyone benefits from this program – the students get a first hand education on the needs of our tenants, and we get not only a helping hand, we also get to see the infectious high spirits and positive outlook of the next generation of community leaders.

Mike's Story

In 2010, 50 year-old Mike moved into the Salvation Army Booth Centre shelter after fleeing abuse by a relative. He told us, “I felt trapped by the abuse and it was hurting me so much.”
