** A place to go when you need it

Hi friend,

You might have heard, this year, and hopefully every year to come, we'll be open during December holidays (http://kindspace.us8.list-manage2.com/track/click?u=6a42b2e64be5f1ad47b00ca13&id=7366ded05f&e=af79969e6c) .
Our volunteers are excited to have the space open during the holidays. As I'm sure you know, the holiday season can often be an incredibly lonely and isolating time for LGBTTQ+ folks. We want to make sure there is a place for you to go and be around people that won’t interrogate your identity,  shame you for not living up to their expectations, or ghost because they don’t like who you are.

Below are all the activities happening over the next two weeks:

* Monday, December 21 – Open hangout from 2-11pm (all ages)
* Tuesday, December 22 – Arts & crafts, open hangout from 2-11pm (all ages)
* Wednesday, December 23 – Queer Trans Youth from 7-9:30pm (25 and under), open hangout from 2 – 11pm (all ages)
* Thursday, December 24 – Holiday movies & open hangout from 2-11pm (all ages)
* Friday, December 25 – Open hangout from 2-11pm (all ages), Sober community dinner starting at 5pm (all ages)
* Saturday, December 26 – Saturday morning cartoons in the afternoon & open hangout from 2-11pm (all ages)
* Monday, December 28 – Board games & open hangout from 2-11pm (all ages)
* Tuesday, December 29 – Mini-video game tournament & open hangout from 2-11pm (all ages)
* Wednesday, December 30 – Queer Trans Youth from 7-9:30pm (25 and under), open hangout from 2-11pm (all ages)
* Thursday, December 31 – Open hangout from 2-7pm (all ages), Sober New Years Eve party from 7-1am (all ages)
* Friday, January 1 – Open hangout from 2-6:30pm (all ages), CafeQ from 7-11pm (18 and under)

During the next two weeks services and programming beyond the above will be limited as staff (i.e. Carling) will not be in the centre regularly. LGBTTQ+ Families Rainbow Snowflake Sparkle

A community of rainbow snowflake sparkles are gathering together to host the

Mothercraft Ottawa, Family Services Ottawa, the Ten Oaks Project and Kind invite you to join us. We'll have multiple areas throughout the building for crafting, visiting, art, button & zine making. We will have a family space, teen room, open play, coffee & tea social in the kitchen and quiet room. The Rainbow Snowflake Sparkle will be making their entrance around 2:30pm.
