Assertive Engagement
 Training with Iain De Jong
Registration Limited to 40
Monday March 16th from 9:00 -12:00 at Ben Franklin Place

Tired of “hitting your head against the brick wall” with resistant, disengaged clients?

Want to feel successful as a change agent in the lives of clients?

Entrenched in a belief that change for the better is possible, Assertive Engagement respects that we are not operating in a “perfect world”. It also acknowledges that solid therapeutic skills can produce positive change, anywhere, in any circumstance and with anyone when utilized by professionals who tap into their creativity and are committed to friendly persistence.

After 3 hours of training with OrgCode Consulting Inc., participants will:
• gain an understanding of what Assertive Engagement is
• learn how it works with even the most challenging of populations
• know when to apply it
• realize how it relates to such theoretical approaches as the Stages of Change
• receive practice in using assertive engagement approaches to increase motivation for positive change

An Assertive Engagement workbook will be provided to assist all training participants in integrating the learned skills into their daily work. The adoption of Assertive Engagement into your practice will result in…
• Effective and engaged case management that is strength based and client -centered
• Improved outcomes for the program and clients
• Community integration and a brighter future for clients
• Team members who recognize their active role as a catalyst for change during their interactions with clients
