Centretown Citizens Ottawa Corporation (CCOC) is one of the largest non-profit landlords in Canada, with over 50 properties located in downtown Ottawa. We're a loud and proud role model and advocate for mixed, affordable, sustainable, accessible, urban, tenant-focused housing.  We are looking for a Communications Officer to champion our brand to our ambassadors, customers and supporters through our multi-channel corporate and strategic communications.
Successful tenancies are our "raison d'être"; how well buildings and people interact is critical to the performance and safety of the building, and to the satisfaction of the people who live in them.  In this position, you will use your knowledge of communications techniques, your expertise in written communications, and your experience in graphic design and layout to help us connect with our core audience. Your passion for social justice, sustainability and great neighbourhoods will also be engaged.
Working with a ten year strategic plan, we have just approved a communications strategy to strengthen our customer service, support core operations, get up to speed with current technologies and engage more deeply with tenants. We need an experienced, digital first communicator who has accessible user experience design front of mind to get our messages out to all of our audiences.  We need someone who can take us through change management from a print platform focus without leaving anyone behind.
This is a complex position that will require a sharp eye, a golden tongue and a listening ear. We're looking for an organized self-starter with initiative and team spirit.
Preferences:

·         Demonstrated experience developing and executing strategic, multi-channel communications and marketing plans

·         Excellent writing and copy editing

·         Experience with plain language writing and editing

·         Experience with website management, content management systems, analytics (WordPress, Fluid Surveys, HootSuite)

·         Strong graphic design and layout skills (Adobe Creative Suite)

·         Ability to edit and layout content in English and French
