Hello everyone,

A special social media campaign is getting underway this weekend in hopes of changing the perception and ending the stigma around homelessness.
The #ICouldHaveBeenHomeless challenge is an idea that came from a volunteer at a local homeless shelter, who through conversations with her own circle of friends, realized that there was a perception by many that when someone experiences homelessness, it's their own fault.
Kelly Ann Moulds then came up with the idea of sharing a bit her story about how she may have been homeless herself, if not for the support of her family.
That sparked the #ICouldHaveBeenHomeless challenge and the hope that others will share a time when they struggled and help break down the stigma surrounding homelessness.

I encourage everyone to share, using the hashtag #ICouldHaveBeenHomless and then nominate 3 friends to take the challenge as well.
Kelly Ann also hopes people will publicly support a charity that supports people who are homeless.

All the details can be found here:

many thanks,
Shirley Roy
