Hello, good people on this listserv,

The Healthy Transportation Coalition recently held a working group meeting with key people from the Alliance to End Homelessness, Ottawa ACORN, City for All Women Initiative, and the Centretown Citizens Ottawa Corp. We all agreed we need to speak out to help ensure the City prioritizes building affordable housing near rapid transit. Please voice your support today by e-mailing your City Councillor, and the Mayor. If enough people voice their support, we feel confident that they will listen and act.

Click here to email the Mayor (https://healthytransportationcoalition.nationbuilder.com/); join hundreds of other people who are voicing their support for our City becoming a leader in equitable Transit-Oriented Development.

Background on this important issue is available here: (https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/affordable-housing-lrt-extension-1.4645621). We have been successful in getting the City to create an inter-departmental working group to address this challenge, and now we need follow up actions, including more money for affordable housing. Most importantly we need you to voice your support.

Please, email Mayor Jim Watson today and let him know you want a city that works for all people: https://healthytransportationcoalition.nationbuilder.com/

If you would like to help us with this campaign, please let me know. Call or text me at 613-789-0604, or email: trevor at healthytransportation.ca

Thanks kindly,
Trevor Haché
vice-president, Healthy Transportation Coalition
