mass evictions of the upcoming legal info drop-in this weekend.

Together with Avant Law, the Herongate Tenant Coalition has gone to the
Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario to fight what is one of the largest urban
mass evictions in Canadian history—the 2018 eviction of 150 houses on
Sandalwood, Baycrest and Heron. We are asking the tribunal to order
Timbercreek and the City of Ottawa to provide:

• The right to return to Herongate at the same size and same rent as before.

• Compensation of $50,000 to each person who was forced from their home.

If you were evicted and we are successful, this amount would apply to you,
your children, and any other dependants. If you lived in one of these homes

The more people who join and share their stories, the stronger our case
will be. There is strength in numbers. We would like to note there is no
financial risk associated with becoming a part of this case, as our Legal
Defence Fund has covered all of the legal costs.

droits de la personne de l’Ontario pour combattre l’une des plus grandes
expulsions de masse au Canada—l’expulsion de 2018 de 150 maisons des rues
Sandalwood, Baycrest et Heron. Nous demandons le tribunal d’ordonner
Timbercreek et la ville d’Ottawa de fournir:

• Le droit de retourner à Herongate à la même taille et au même loyer.
