*Status of services within Community Health and Resource Centres (CHRC)
during COVID-19 response*



March 20th, 2020



Services vary from Centre to Centre but in general, essential services are
still operating in the CHRCs. Services like food banks, crisis intake,
counselling, emergency food cupboards, safe injection and inhalation sites
and outreach services, primary care, and primary care outreach, Meals on
Wheels, and breastfeeding supports are all still available.



This is not an exhaustive list of all available services, so please call
your CHRC <http://www.coalitionottawa.ca/en/find-your-chrc.aspx> if you are
wondering about a service.



Most services are done either by phone or using other virtual technologies
(OTN, Zoom, etc.). Ultimately, we are asking the community to call rather
than walking-in to services. People can get more information about which
CHRC is in their ward, and find out how to reach CHRCs through this website
<http://www.coalitionottawa.ca/>.



If that is not possible, people are asked to call ahead and make
appointments. People who do come in are being actively screened and seen
one-on-one to allow for social distancing.



Community Health Centres are also supporting with the rollout of the
Assessment Centres.



Otherwise, all non-essential services are on hold.



Rideau Rockliffe Community Resource Centre is closed because one of their
staff members has likely contracted the infection. You can get more

The situation is not static and evolving as new directives come from the
federal, provincial and municipal governments, but this is the status as of
March 20, 2020.
